A 2Hr Detour for an Extra Show

A 2Hr Detour for an Extra Show

I finished the last show in Perth and wasn’t sure whether I was driving to Broomehill or to Esperance. Everyone at the agency had finished for the day and were not answering any of my calls. Eek!

I ended up staying the night at a little town where I could either turn right to go to Esperance or go straight ahead to go to Broomehill. I got a call in the morning that Broomehill was going ahead which meant I had to leave straight away. It was a two hour drive and I was due to start in 3 hours. To give me an hour for setting up and warming up. Yikes.

Stopped By The Principal Mid-Show

Stopped By The Principal Mid-Show. It is true! I am not sure what he was thinking or what was going on but I had to say, I’m only half way through the show….

He was very apologetic and I went on with the show. The kids loved it.

Spare Bike to the Rescue

Spare Bike to the Rescue

After a 2 hour drive I made it to Kalgoorlie, ready for shows. As I was warming up I noticed something odd happening to my rear brakes. I also learned that I had left my tools back in Melbourne. I couldn’t fix it with the tools that I had with me. This is why I have spare bike!

The issue turned out to be the brake mounting post that had come loose from the frame. An easy fix when you have the right tools.

Crossing the Nullarbor

Crossing the Nullarbor

Null arbor. No trees. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Just little scrubby bushes. It was AMAZING! The SA coastline is absolutely spectacular. The 73m high cliffs as far as you can see. Yes, I check. I flew my drown down to just above the ocean and it was 72m! Oh my!!

There are no white lions in Kimba. But gee the kids were lovely. They had SUCH a great time during the show and were an incredible charming audience.

It was great to be back at Lock Area School, too. I was there 2 years ago in 2021 and they were thrilled to have me back. The mats were already set up when I arrived and the students were excited with anticipation.

The Best Day in All My Days

The Best Day in All My Days

Today I was in Whyalla then back up to Port Augusta. Then I travelled all the way back to Kimba. Yes, when touring there is a LOT of travelling. Either you are driving or flying or waiting in airports.

And Bless his little cotton socks. Little Silas came up to me at the end of the show in Port Augusta and told me how much he loved it.
